Terms of Service

Effective July 24, 2026

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Take Your Tithe LLC, a New York limited liability company ("Tithe," "we," "us," "our"). They govern your use of the Tithe app and website. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Tithe is

Tithe is a focus app for iPhone. You choose apps to block during focus sessions you set, and you choose in advance what happens if you end a session early: a donation to a cause you selected, a movement goal you must meet before your apps unlock, or, when the feature becomes available, moving an amount you set from your own checking account to your own savings or brokerage account. If you complete the session, nothing happens.

Tithe is a tool for managing your own attention. It is not a bank, money transmitter, broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial advisor, lender, or healthcare provider. Tithe never holds, pools, or controls your money.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Tithe. By creating an account you confirm that you are.

Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for the security of the Apple Account you use and for activity under your Tithe account. Tell us promptly at support@takeyourtithe.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Subscription and billing

Tithe requires a paid subscription after a free trial. Pricing is shown in the app before you subscribe.

Screen Time and app blocking

Tithe uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block the apps you select, on your own device, at your own direction. You grant this permission during setup and can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings. Because blocking depends on this permission and on Apple's frameworks, Tithe cannot guarantee that blocking will succeed in every circumstance.

If you revoke Screen Time permission while a session is running, that counts as ending the session early. Repeatedly revoking permission during active sessions may result in your membership being suspended, as described in the app at the time it occurs.

How consequences work

You choose your consequence method and its amount or goal before a session begins, and you confirm again at the moment a consequence would apply. Nothing happens automatically without that confirmation, and completing your session means no consequence at all.

Charity. If you select the charity consequence, ending a session early prompts a donation to the cause you chose. Donations are processed by Every.org on their own checkout, subject to their terms. Tithe does not process the payment, does not receive the funds, and takes no portion of any donation. Donations are made to the organization you selected; Tithe makes no representation about the tax treatment of any donation, and you should consult your own advisor.

Movement. If you select the movement consequence, ending a session early sets a goal you must meet, measured by Apple Health on your device, before your selected apps unlock. Tithe reads this data on your device only, and never receives it.

Savings. The savings consequence is not enabled in the current release. When it becomes available, it will work as described below, and these terms will be updated before it does.

Community

The Community area contains editorial material written and published by Tithe. There is no user-generated content: no posting, comments, likes, profiles, or messaging. An anonymous count of how many members practiced in the past week may be displayed. No member's activity is visible to any other member. Tithe's editorial material is our intellectual property and is provided for your personal use.

Acceptable use

Do not: use Tithe for any unlawful purpose; attempt to circumvent, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app or our systems; use another person's account or financial accounts without authorization; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service.

Third-party services

Tithe relies on services we do not control, including Apple (authentication, billing, Screen Time, Health), Google Firebase (backend infrastructure), Every.org (donations), and, where applicable, Plaid (bank connections) and Google Calendar. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or outages.

No financial, tax, or medical advice

Nothing in Tithe is financial, investment, tax, legal, or medical advice. Amounts, goals, and destinations are entirely your choice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and should consult qualified professionals where appropriate.

Availability and changes to the service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, including consequence methods, at any time. We will provide notice of material changes that affect a feature you actively use where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers

Tithe is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that blocking will function in all circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tithe and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Tithe in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Tithe harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the app or your violation of these terms or of applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Tithe and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect and update the effective date above. Continuing to use Tithe after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and Tithe consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court where available.
